Well, this week was a bit more drama filled than I wanted it to be! I was not feeling that well and had a headache for a two days straight. I decided on Thursday I was going to leave work early to go home and get some rest. I grabbed by bags and headed out only to fall down the stairs leading from my office to the ground floor. Everything in my bags flew down the stairs and I followed behind. Luckily, I landed on my bottom. I was of course shaken up because I had no idea if I had done anything to hurt the baby.
Public Safety was called and urged me to go to the emergency room. They actually tried to call EMS, but I convinced them to let Jeff come and get me. So, off we went to the emergency room at St. Mary's. The doctor ordered an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok with the baby. It was amazing how much the baby had grown in the course of just 2 weeks. As Jeff described it, the baby looked like it was dancing and had a nice strong heartbeat of 160. So, we both felt much better after the ultrasound. I was sent home to rest and ice anything that was sore.
I think more than anything I learned a lesson. I am now living my life for two and I need to slow down. I am always rushing to get things done and that is what causes accidents like this. I am thankful I learned the lesson now and not when I was much further along in the pregnancy.
